GT models have a long tradition at Porsche. They stand for exceptional performance, on the road and on the track. And they demand a lot from their driver. On August 10th we came together at the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit to harness to power of GT in its natural habitat. Expert instructors showed drivers how to tame the power of a GT vehicle and how to drive it at its best. From the basics of vehicle control through to taking on the 19 corners of the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit, drivers were able to learn how to use the unique characteristics of the legendary GT and maintain control in every environment.
Professional instructors put together various dynamic driving exercises like emergency braking, emergency lane change and slalom practice runs. Afterwords drivers took their honed skills to the challenging curves along the circuit and improved their ideal driving line. Elevation changes equal to seven stories really illustrated the prowess of the Porsche GT in various circumstances. Our session was wrapped up with a few exhilarating hot laps along the track and a delicious lunch at the Paddock Lounge.
Many thanks to all those who attended for making it such a unique and special event and to the talented Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit crew who allowed us to celebrate the tradition of Porsche GT to the fullest.
